Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay
Wine
Punch Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay is grown on a steep, north facing slope overlooking Diamond Creek in the hamlet of St Andrews, Yarra Valley.
Originally there were just two rows of Chardonnay, planted in 1977. They excelled, inspiring the planting of another small parcel in 1984. All the vines are hand harvested.
The fruit is whole bunch pressed directly to barrel for wild yeast fermentation, followed by maturation on lees. There is no malolactic fermentation. The wine is bottled without fining or filtration.
Straw green, Punch Lance's Vineyard Chardonnay has fresh fruit flavours, bright citrus acidity and balanced oak. Cellaring potential is five years.
